Who we are and what this policy covers

The Blueprint is a community and event initiative of The Connection Effect, operated by Eden Holt ("we," "us," or "our"). We respect the personal information you share with us.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information through https://www.theblueprintwibs.community/and related registration forms, memberships, events, nominations, networking programs, and communications. It does not replace separate notices provided for other The Connection Effect services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Contact and account information. Your name, email address, phone number, mailing or billing address, account details, and communication preferences.

Professional information. Your business or organization, role, website, social media links, biography, professional interests, goals, and information submitted for networking, speaking, exhibiting, or sponsorship.

Registration and purchase information. Ticket or membership selections, attendance records, transaction details, and payment status. Our payment providers process payments; we do not store full payment card numbers.]

Program submissions. Matching Program responses, nomination details, testimonials, survey answers, uploaded materials, and messages you send us.

Accommodation information. Dietary or accessibility requests you choose to provide. Please share only what we need to arrange your participation, rather than medical records or diagnoses.

Technical and usage information. IP address, device and browser details, pages visited, referral sources, and interactions with the website or emails, where collected by the tools identified below.

We collect information directly from you, automatically through website and communication tools, and from people who nominate you or register on your behalf. Please obtain appropriate permission before submitting someone else’s contact details or other personal information.

How we use information

We use information to process registrations and memberships; administer events and programs; arrange requested accommodations; respond to questions; coordinate speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers; evaluate nominations; facilitate requested introductions; and send purchase confirmations or program updates.

We also use information to deliver communications you subscribe to, understand participation and website performance, improve our services, prevent misuse, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations. Where possible, we use aggregated or de-identified information for reporting.

Who receives information

We share information with service providers that help us host the website, collect forms, manage communications and registrations, process payments, store records, and operate programs. Our providers include Wix, Google Forms or Google Workspace, Flodesk, Stripe, and any analytics or automation providers. These providers receive the information needed to provide their services; some also process information under their own privacy notices.

Authorized event staff, contractors, venues, or other event partners may receive information needed to fulfill their responsibilities, such as check-in details or accommodation requests. Nomination reviewers and networking recipients are described below.

We do not share sponsors', exhibitors', or other partners' attendee contact lists for independent marketing without your specific permission. If you scan a partner’s QR code or submit information directly to that partner, its privacy policy applies to that collection.

We may disclose information when legally required, to protect people or our legal rights, or in connection with a business sale or transfer, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

The Matching Program and community introductions

Participation in the Matching Program is optional. We use your responses to identify relevant professional connections. For an introduction you authorize, we may share your preferred name, business or role, and a brief summary of the interests, needs, or strengths relevant to that connection. We share your email address or phone number with a match only when you expressly authorize it.

We do not publish or distribute your full questionnaire to attendees. If we offer a member directory or public profile, we will show you what will be visible and who can see it before you choose to participate. You may contact us to update your preferences or stop future introductions. We cannot retrieve information already received by another participant.

Nominations and recognition programs

When someone submits a nomination, we may collect the nominator’s and nominee’s contact information, professional background, achievements, and supporting statements. Authorized organizers and judges may review this information to administer the recognition program and evaluate nominations.

We may contact nominees to verify details and discuss participation and recognition. Before publishing a nominee’s or honoree’s name, biography, photograph, or nomination excerpts, we will obtain their permission for that use. Public recognition materials do not include contact information, private nomination materials, or judges’ notes.

Submitting a nomination does not automatically subscribe either person to promotional emails. Please avoid including sensitive personal information about a nominee unless it is necessary and you have their permission to share it.

Email and other communications

When you register, make a purchase, or request information, we may contact you about that transaction or request. Promotional communications are optional and follow the choices you make when subscribing. Registering for an event or submitting a form does not automatically subscribe you to every The Blueprint or The Connection Effect email list.

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not prevent essential communications about an existing registration, membership, payment, or requested service.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and embedded services may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, analytics, and any separately disclosed advertising purposes.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect registration, checkout, or account functions. Where consent is required, optional tracking will be enabled only after we obtain that consent.

Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will honor it for the processing covered by that law.

Photographs, recordings, and testimonials

Some events may include photography or recordings. Any event-specific notice or release will explain the intended uses and available choices. Contact us before the event if you have a privacy concern about being photographed or recorded. We will explain the arrangements available, including any limits on controlling recordings made independently by attendees.

We obtain permission before publishing a testimonial or using an identifiable photograph or recording for a purpose requiring consent. This privacy policy does not itself grant us a photo release or permission to publish your submission.

Storage retention and security

We are based in Missouri, United States. Information may be stored or processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ by location. We use safeguards required by applicable law for international transfers.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including ongoing memberships, event administration, financial records, resolving disputes, and legal obligations. Retention depends on the information, its purpose, and applicable requirements. We may keep a limited record of an unsubscribe or privacy request so we can continue to respect it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold and limit access to people who need it to do their jobs. No online service or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to update communication and sharing preferences. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it for future processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply to our activities, you may have additional rights, including receiving a copy of your information, objecting to or restricting certain uses, opting out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, appealing a request decision, or contacting a privacy regulator. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not retaliate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

We may need to retain some information for legal or legitimate recordkeeping reasons. If we cannot complete a request, we will explain why and describe any applicable appeal process. Information you make public or share directly with other participants may remain in their possession.

Children and external services

The Blueprint website and programs are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Our website may link to third-party websites, payment services, forms, social media, or event partners. Their privacy policies govern information they collect independently. Please review their notices before sharing information.

Policy updates and contact details

We may update this policy as our services or privacy practices change. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent when required by applicable law.
